One of the best parts about studying to become a Registered Dietitian was getting to study food beyond just nutrition. While I was in college, one of our required classes was called Food and Culture, and we had the incredible opportunity to take that class abroad in Greece. It remains one of my favorite experiences to this day. Prepare the Feta
Pat the block of feta dry with a paper towel and place it in a small baking dish. Drizzle it with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with the Greek Seasoning and freshly cracked black pepper.
Bake
Bake uncovered in a 400°F oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the feta is warmed through and soft around the edges. It should be creamy in the center while still holding its shape.
Warm the Honey
While the feta bakes, warm the honey in a small microwave-safe bowl for about 10 to 15 seconds or gently heat it in a small saucepan until it’s thin and easily pourable.
Finish the Appetizer
Remove the baked feta from the oven and immediately drizzle it with the warm honey. Sprinkle the toasted pistachios, fresh lemon zest, and chopped herbs evenly over the top.
Serve Immediately
