Method

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture, half of the Greek seasoning, and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  5. Transfer the risen dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Gently press and spread the dough to cover the sheet evenly.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the dough and use your fingers to create dimples. Add other half of Greek seasoning on top.
  7. Sprinkle sea salt over the toppings, then let it rest for another 15-20 minutes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!

Storage Information

Room Temperature: If you plan to consume it within 1-2 days, store it in an airtight container or wrap it in plastic wrap at room temperature.
Fridge: For longer storage (up to a week), place it in the refrigerator. Reheat slices in the oven or toaster to maintain the texture.
Freezing: Focaccia can also be frozen. Wrap individual slices or the entire loaf tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer bag. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
Remember, the texture may change slightly upon reheating, so it's best enjoyed fresh.
