Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture, half of the Greek seasoning, and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough doubles in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  • Transfer the risen dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Gently press and spread the dough to cover the sheet evenly.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the dough and use your fingers to create dimples. Add other half of Greek seasoning on top.
  • Sprinkle sea salt over the toppings, then let it rest for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!

Notes

Storage Information

Room Temperature: If you plan to consume it within 1-2 days, store it in an airtight container or wrap it in plastic wrap at room temperature.
Fridge: For longer storage (up to a week), place it in the refrigerator. Reheat slices in the oven or toaster to maintain the texture.
Freezing: Focaccia can also be frozen. Wrap individual slices or the entire loaf tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer bag. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
Remember, the texture may change slightly upon reheating, so it's best enjoyed fresh.
